While working at CCPSL, I worked on three projects and gained knowledge in the areas of electronic system development, machine learning and web development. I worked with a team of two other interns to produce a Fuel Management System, a Live Plant Update System and a React Website to allow users to interface with both systems. More about these systems can be found in the Projects Section of this Website.
The time that I didn't spend working on the projects was spent learning from the employees and assisting with various tasks such as programming a VFD and learning about the processes in the plant itself.
I learnt many skills at this Internship and had a lot of fun working on the projects.
While working at Qualitech I was able to pick up a variety of valuable skills. I started off the internship by working the Qualitech Information Booth at the Trade and Investment Convention. I was able to gain an understanding on the business side of Engineering and learnt how to interact with customers and sell Engineering Services to potential customers.
After TIC, I moved on to working in the Electrical Division where I assisted with electric motor and generator repairs. I was then tasked with designing and launching an Automated Report Generation System for motor repair jobs. I also developed an EASA Standard Calibration System for Precision Measurement Tools.
I learnt a lot about Engineering while working at Qualitech and the experience set the pace for my outlook as a future Engineer in Trinidad and Tobago.
